Abstract:

We have identified priority areas for the development of Ukrainian nuclear power industry with using advanced nuclear reactors, taking into account the need for their use in maneuverable operating modes to ensure the sustainability and reliability of Ukraine's UPS. We carried out a comparative assessment of the economic efficiency of the introduction of nuclear technologies and fossil fuel technologies operating in maneuvering regimes, which showed the feasibility of using advanced small modular reactors subject to increasing requirements for low-carbon development of the country.
