Mathematical model of the optimal structure of coal production for thermal power plants of Ukraine with taking into account environmental constraints

Abstract: The aim of this study is to develop a mathematical model of the delivery of coal production for TPP under conditions of possible import supply and own products with minimal financial expenditures at certain levels of the current environmental constraints. To achieve this aim, we formulated the mathematical statement of this problem and used for its solution a special tool of spreadsheet MS Excel «Solver».
The solution of problem provides the optimal structure of fuel reserves for TPP of our country with acceptable quality parameters at the minimal cost of coal products and pays for the emissions at their allowable levels.
On the basis of proposed model, the optimal structure of fuel supply for seven TPPs consuming coal of the gas group will be calculated in the future. This structure will satisfy both the volumes of fuel and its calorific value, according to the design characteristics of power plants with regard for environmental constraints.
