Abstract: Dependence of technical and economic indicators from NPP operation in load-following mode is analyzed in the article. Increasing part of renewables, namely wind and PV, in the Ukrainian power sector generating intermittent electric power leads to increased requirements to integrated electric grid stability by using more load-following generators. Implementation of load-following modes at NPP that was designed as base-load is an accepted practice, for example in Germany and France and could be used in Ukraine. The estimation of electricity production costs generated by existing in Ukraine and perspective mid-power load-following NPP were calculated using deterministic and stochastic mathematical method.
