It was provided the methodological approach and mathematical model for predicting levels of energy consumption taking into account demand for energy-intensive products. It was analyzed energy consumption for exports for 2010-2012 and changing trends of indicators of output, exports, and energy costs for production of ferrous metals and sunflower oil.

To determine the volume of export or import of energy resources as a result of export-import of certain types of products, and to compare these volumes and assess the feasibility of these operations in terms of power factor the calculation algorithms were proposed. It was assessed expected FER (fuel and energy resources) volumes exported from the country with exported products and their share of total energy consumption in production.
Evidently, increase in cast iron smelting and yield of sunflower as the main export products, will not save the economy of Ukraine; it is required substantial technological modernization, which will create new industries, demand for products in the world markets, will be consistently high in conditions of the third industrial revolution.

We give an estimate of the state of energy security at the supply of carbonaceous on the basis of representation of the fuel supply system in a three-fuel economic-and-mathematical model of the production type. We present results of calculations of the gas, coal, oil and oil-product flows and the corresponding levels of energy security criteria under conditions of substantial reformation of the traditional fuel supply schemes of our country.
It is shown that taking into account the restrictions of energy security at the stage of determining the amounts of fuel incomes can generate contradictory, from the viewpoint economic expediency, supply schemes.

We have developed the structure of a balance-optimization model for determining the volumes of coal production and import with regard for the increase in industry's competitiveness by reducing the prime cost of coal mining at state-owned enterprises after carrying out their reconstruction and modernization. The developed model takes into account the simultaneous consumption of separate coal grades under conditions of the limited possibilities of domestic coal mining and limited capacity of Ukrainian seaports. The implementations of balance of the supply and consumption of coal products is carried out through its import.

Based on the analysis of statistics of thermal energy production, supply and consumption in Ukraine in 2005–2013 and using different statistical reporting forms, the real figures of thermal energy production and consumption have been substantiated. In addition, the volumes of heat production by individual low-power heat generators are substantiated on the basis of statistics of the sale of fuel (natural gas, coal, firewood, peat, etc.) to population, consumption of other energy resources (not taken into statistical account fuel (shadow fuel), biogas, solar power, household wastes, etc.) and also the use of electric power for obtaining heat at enterprises, in utilities sector and households.
The main thermal energy sources in the centralized heat supply system still remain electric power plants, heating boiler plants and various heat utilization processes.The percentage of heat supply provided by these sources in the total volume of heat consumption covered by statistics constantly decreases and lies in the interval from 67% (in 2005) to 51% (in 2013). It was shown that in the accounting period heat pump systems began to play a significant role in heat supply; they accounted for 3.5% of thermal energy produced in 2005 and up to 20% in 2013.
The volumes of thermal energy produced by decentralized systems were also substantiated. It should be noted that the percentage of this energy in 2013 amounted to almost 50% of the total thermal energy consumed by customers.
In future the replacement of natural gas boilers with heat pump systems will make it possible to materially improve the heat supply and change the energy balance in the direction of reducing the natural gas consumption.

It is determined that, during 2007—2010, a part of heating boiler rooms of the system of centralized heat supply in Ukraine in the total heat-supply volume continues to grow (this part was equal to 64.8% in 2010 against 61.8% in 2007). At the same time, the system of heating boiler rooms undergoes the decentralization, because the boilers with a power of at most 3 MW are mainly introduced. According to statistical data, the basic kind of fuel in the energy balance of heat-generating sources is a natural gas, whose share is 85% of the total volume of the consumed fuel. For this period, no decrease in the actual specific consumption of conditional fuel for the heat production is observed. For heating boiler rooms, this indicator is in the limits 168-170 kg of con. fuel\Gcal. The change of the pipelines of heat networks, which are in the emergency state, is realized unsatisfactorily, though their total length is as large as 54,127 km (16% of the total length of pipelines).
Moreover, the statistical data do not include the changes in the heat generation structure that happen in Ukraine. Now, very intense become the processes involving the use of electric power for the heat generation, especially in heat pumps (conditioners).
